Apply for a CLG Grant

FY23 CLG Grant Applications Now Being Accepted - Due February 1, 2023

Michigan communities that have entered into the Certified Local Government (CLG) program by February 1, 2023 are eligible to apply for fiscal year (FY) 2023 grant funding from SHPO. Non-profits and public entities within a CLG community can also access the funding through the CLG. Funding is available in two categories: (1) rehabilitation planning and rehabilitation projects and (2) planning, documentation, and education projects. 

Important FY23 grant cycle dates:

  • October 3, 2022: Application round opens
  • December 9, 2022: Draft application review (optional)
  • February 1, 2023: Application round closes
  • March/April 2023: SHPO provides letters of intent to award
  • June/July 2023: Grant agreements executed
  • Summer 2023: Projects begin
  • September 30, 2025: Project activities must be completed
