Apply for a CLG Project Grant

The FY27 Grant Application Round is Now Open.

Michigan communities that have entered into the Certified Local Government (CLG) program by the application deadline are eligible to apply for project grants from SHPO. Non-profits and public entities within a CLG community can also partner with the CLG on an application. Funding is available in two categories: (1) pre-development and development projects and (2) planning, documentation, and education projects. FY27 applications are due by February 5, 2027.

New for FY27: Potential appliants interested in applying for a CLG grant must notify the SHPO of their intent to apply no later than January 8, 2027. Please see the grant manual for additional instructions.
