Thousands of Resources, Ready to help.
The City of Fremont seeks a development partner for an approximately seven acre site between N. Division Ave. and N. Weaver Ave., just north of Hemlock St. Located just north of downtown and the Gerber Products campus. The site currently sits vacant, formally serving Gerber before city ownership. The site provides potential opportunity for a transition of vacant land to singlefamily residential neighborhoods.
The city’s goal is to partner with a developer to transform this site and meet the growing community demand for market rate housing, with a focus on walkability and community gathering spaces. This development would position Fremont as a welcoming
community for all ages and family types, drawing customers to its local businesses, and supporting employment centers by continuing to attract a local workforce.
The City of Fremont has been certified in the Redevelopment Ready Communities program and worked diligently to provide a more predictable development environment for those interested in making investments in their community. Through extensive community engagement, city leaders strive to enact strategies that are both robust and responsible for the future development of this growing community.
The City of Fremont and MEDC have worked collaboratively to develop this RFQ. A range of incentives, at the local and state levels, may be leveraged as part of a negotiated pre-development agreement. Key dates include:
