Archaeologist/Historian/Architectural Historian/Historical Architect Consultant List Update Forms

The Michigan State Historic Preservation Office does not permit nor license consultants. The individuals in these lists have provided documentation to the state historic preservation office that they meet the minimum federal professional qualifications set forth in 36 CFR Part 61 in each respective field. Inclusion in this list does NOT constitute endorsement by the State Historic Preservation Office or the Michigan Strategic Fund/Michigan Economic Development Corporation, nor does it guarantee that any work product carried out by persons on the list will necessarily meet federal and state requirements. Before engaging the services of any consultant, it is always advisable to contact references named by the consultant — especially those people for whom a consultant has worked. Inquiring about the nature of the project and the quality and timeliness of the work performed may provide an indication of a consultant's ability to successfully complete your project.

Use the appropriate form below to submit qualifications for listing or with any updates to this list. Consultants may list a maximum of two contact persons and two office locations. The lists are typically updated twice annually (January and June), but you may submit your information at any time. This list is alphabetized by company/institution. Completed forms and additional documentations should be sent to the appropriate individual noted below:

  • Archaeologist Qualification New/Update Form
(contact: Mike Hambacher, Staff Archaeologist, hambacherm@michigan.gov)
  • Historian/Architectural Historian Qualification New/Update Form
(contact: Katie Kolokithas, SHPO Survey Coordinator, kolokithask1@michigan.gov)
  • Historical Architect: If you are an architect and wish to be added/update your information to the Historical Architect consultant list, contact Bryan Lijewski at lijewskib@michigan.gov.
